The advent of molecular genetics has equipped and expanded the realm and scope of genetics as well as any biological sciences. Study of any disease at molecular level makes it easy to device prophylactic, diagnostic and curative methods forit. Population or evolutionary studies as well as individual studies, MAS, breed characterization and improvement have all taken a leap using these techniques. The necessity of molecular tools in research as well as academics makes it mandatory to update the undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as faculty with the basic knowledge of molecular tools. The book has been authored with this aim of disseminating knowledge to the scholars and teachers. It is useful for veterinary as well as animal biotechnology or allied fields.

Dr. Nandani Kumari, Assistant Professor-cum-Junior Scientist, A.H., Animal Genetics and Breeding, Ranchi Veterinary College, BAU).
